Our Treasures
Mount Cook Station has historical significance, having being owned continuously by the Burnett family since the run was first taken up in 1864 until the last family member died 151 years later. The property was sold by the trust in 2017 to the Gould/Miles family, who live there now.
The museum contains mementoes of their lives and skills, and machinery through two generations, as well as historical pieces donated from surrounding stations.
Open by appointment only. A gold coin donation for entry.
